CPR Course Overview
Cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency that can happen to anyone, anywhere. Knowing how to respond quickly and confidently can save a life. This nationally recognised CPR course teaches you how to identify a cardiac emergency, call for help, and perform effective CPR on adults and infants. Training is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and includes hands-on practice using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You’ll leave this course with the confidence and skills to respond calmly and effectively when it matters most.
What You’ll Learn
Recognise cardiac arrest and when CPR is required
Perform CPR on adults and infants
Use an AED safely and effectively
Rotate first aiders with minimal interruption to compressions
Manage regurgitation/vomiting during CPR
Place a casualty into the recovery position
Communicate incident details to emergency services
Understand post-incident review and psychological impacts
Course Structure
1. Online – Pre-course learning modules and multiple-choice quiz.
2. Face-to-face – In person course recap and practical assessments.
3. Certification – Digital Statement of Attainment issued upon successful completion.
Duration
Online learning: approximately 45–90 minutes
Face-to-face practical: 20–60 minutes
Assessment
Online: multiple-choice theory exam
Practical: CPR on an adult (incl. AED + recovery position) and CPR on an infant
Certificate Validity & Renewal
Valid for 12 months (industry recommended)
Entry Requirements
Physical ability to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor
Internet device access for online learning
